Don't Let the Economy Move Into Your Head

There are times when the world seems determined to convince you that prosperity has left the building. Prices are up. Business may be slower. People are cautious. The news gives you a fresh reason to worry every hour. And if you aren’t careful, you start carrying the economy around IN YOUR HEAD.

Years ago, I interviewed my longtime friend Dan Kennedy about the mindset of prosperity and wealth attraction.

One thing he said has stayed with me: “You can’t outperform what you are telling yourself.”

THAT is worth thinking about, because challenging economic times don’t just affect our bank accounts. They can affect our expectations.

We start saying:

“Nobody is spending money.”

“People can’t afford this.”

“Business is terrible.”

“This is just a bad time to try something new.”

Pretty soon, an outside condition has become an inside belief and once it becomes a belief, we begin making decisions from it.

We hesitate.

We lower our expectations.

We stop promoting.

We discount too quickly.

We postpone ideas.

We pull back at exactly the time we need to be looking for opportunity.

YOUR MINDSET IS PART OF YOUR ECONOMIC STRATEGY

Prosperity thinking is NOT pretending everything is wonderful when it isn’t. I’m not suggesting you look at a challenging economy and chant affirmations while ignoring reality.

Quite the opposite.

Look at reality—but don’t surrender your power to it.

Dan made another point in our conversation that I think is even more important today: when circumstances change, opportunities change with them.

Money doesn’t simply disappear, It MOVES. Needs change, priorities change. People stop buying one thing and start buying another. New problems appear and new problems create demand for new solutions.

So instead of continually asking: “What’s wrong with the economy?”

Ask better questions:

Where is the opportunity NOW?

What do people need NOW?

What value can I provide NOW?

What am I assuming that may no longer be true?

And perhaps the biggest question: What am I repeatedly telling myself about my ability to prosper?

Because your circumstances may influence you but they do not get to PROGRAM YOU.

Watch your language.

Watch your assumptions.

Watch what you repeatedly expose your mind to.

And most importantly, don't allow someone else's fear to become your financial philosophy.

The economy may have its cycles, and the marketplace may change. Your circumstances may temporarily challenge you. Your job is to keep your mind looking for VALUE, POSSIBILITY and OPPORTUNITY because prosperity has never required perfect conditions.

It requires you to stay awake enough to see the possibilities that imperfect conditions create.

READY TO FIND YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY?

Sometimes the hardest thing about challenging times is that we get too close to our own circumstances to see the possibilities.

That's where I can help.

In my one-on-one private coaching, we'll look at where you are NOW and where the opportunities for greater prosperity may be hiding in plain sight.

Maybe it's a new way to use what you already know. A different income stream. A business idea you haven't considered. A change in how you're positioning yourself. Or simply getting past the thinking that's keeping you focused on what's NOT working instead of what could.

You don't always need to work harder. Sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes, a new strategy and the courage to make a different move.

If you're ready to explore what prosperity could look like in the next chapter of YOUR life, I'd love to work with you privately.

Let's find where YOUR opportunity has moved.
